Director’s Notes
Thank you for being here! This show at Hale Centre Theatre is a dream come true, 25 years in the making.
After leaving Las Vegas at age 25, I spent two decades performing and speaking worldwide, writing books, and transitioning from a 9 PM showman to a 9 AM leadership keynote speaker. Yet, this show never had a home until Mark and Sally Dietlein made it possible. I can't thank them enough for their vision and dedication to family-friendly, world-class entertainment in Utah.
The show is directed by my best friend since high school, Quinn Dietlein, who discovered my singing talent and encouraged me to explore it. Together, we founded 'The Troubadours' at The Waterford School in Sandy under the direction of Mrs. Rosalind Hall. This a cappella group still performs to this day, 30 years later. This performance also features the top musicians in our state and Quinn & Dawn Dietlein's extremely talented teenage son, Cameron, who plays multiple instruments and sings vocals.
This is a full circle moment for the Hewlett and Dietlein families, celebrating the music of legendary artists Billy Joel and Elton John. As a reminder, what you're about to see are not impersonations of these great artists but rather our tribute to honoring their greatness and enjoying the experience together. This performance also showcases my life and career stories, parody creations, comedy musical impressions, and other surprises.
In 2011, I retired from public performances to focus on family, health, and my speaking and consulting career after a grueling nationwide schedule. The rebirth of this show, made possible by Cardio Miracle, our main show sponsor, comes after over a decade of requests for my return to the stage. Cardio Miracle’s nitric oxide therapy has enabled my voice and body to perform at their best despite years of wear.
We hope you enjoy this unique show at Hale Centre Theatre. Many thanks to the incredible professionals who made it possible. Special thanks to my wife, Tami, and my children, Ella, Redford, Romney, and Royal. I dedicate these performances to you for sharing your Signature Moves with the world and keeping The Promise.
