Tradition.

For 70 years, it has been a tradition for theater companies around the world to perform Fiddler on the Roof. It is reported that, before the pandemic, not a single day had passed without it being performed somewhere in the world. Likely this is not your first visit to Anatevka, and may not be your last.

At the turn of the 20th century, Yiddish author Shalom Aleichem wrote universal stories about family and faith in an ever-changing world. The unforgettable characters he created, like Tevye the dairyman, and Yente the matchmaker, became indelible literary folktale giants. Though fictional, the people that inspired the characters he based them on were very real. While researching for this production, what stood out to me were the photographs of the Jewish people who lived in Eastern Europe around this time. Their actual faces and living conditions brought some of the truth found in “Fiddler” to life in a way I had never experienced before. These people really lived and their struggles really happened, and continue today.  A few empty chairs, a wagon, and a fiddle are what we imagine the villagers of Anatevka left behind, and will be the tools we use to tell their story.

To deepen our understanding of Jewish culture and traditions, our design team and cast met multiple times with Rabbi Spector, leader of the Congregation Kol Ami Synagogue in Salt Lake City. His opinion is that wherever “Fiddler” is performed it “builds bridges within the community.” This show has a tradition of teaching audiences to recognize our common humanity and aims to find a way to peacefully coexist.   

Those you see on stage tonight are actors performing roles that have been passed down to them. They have been inspired by the faces and customs of the past. We present this story for you tonight and will pass along the tradition for someone else to tell tomorrow.

Daniel is pleased to be back on the HCT stage; he was previously seen in our productions of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as Grandpa Potts and Les Misérables as Monsieur Thenardier. He has a Master's Degree in Theatre & Cinematic Arts from BYU and works as a Seminary Teacher. “Actors are beings who have tasted life's nectar in that crystal moment when they poured out their creative spirit and touched another's heart. Josh is excited and humbled to be playing this iconic role in Fiddler on the Roof - his 40th production at Hale Centre Theatre. Other recent roles include: Titanic the Musical (Captain Smith), Little Mermaid (King Triton), Treasure Island (Long John Silver, 2009 & 2022), Guys & Dolls (Nathan Detroit), Les Misérables (Thernardier, 2014 & 2021), Bright Star (Daddy Cane), The Addams Family (Gomez Addams), and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Frollo). He studied acting & directing at SUU and works by day as an account manager for Holistic Web Presence. “A million thanks to Mark, Sally, and the whole Hale family for bringing me along on so many incredible adventures over the last 20 years! Claire’s stage credits include: HCT - Ernestina/Mrs. Rose (Hello, Dolly!) Rita La Porta (Lucky Stiff), Ms. Sheinkopf (School of Rock), Claire Holmes (The Secret Garden), Sandra/Florence Colleymoore (The Play That Goes Wrong), Shirley Hastings (Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom The Musical), and Alice Beineke (The Addams Family); HCTO - Mrs. White (Clue), Betsy Foster (Tuck Everlasting), and Mrs. Cratchit (A Christmas Carol). In addition, Claire is a three-time Tony Award-winning producer for The Lehman Trilogy, Hadestown, and Once on This Island. Other Broadway producing credits include Peter Pan Goes Wrong, New York, New York, Life of Pi, The Piano Lesson, &Juliet, Anastasia, Tootsie, A Christmas Carol, and Jagged Little Pill. “25 years ago, I performed in Fiddler alongside my mom and dad. My mom was Golde, my dad was Tevye, and I was Hodel. It is a joy to revisit this beautiful show with my sweet James by my side.”

Honored to return to the Centre Stage; some of Lauren’s favorite Hale Centre credits include: The Light in the Piazza, A Christmas Carol 2021 & 2022, The Secret Garden, and Les Misérables; Maria Rainer (The Sound of Music) with Sundance Summer Theatre; Ophelia (Hamlet) with Parker Theatre; Belle (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast) at Scera Outdoor Theatre; and Ariel (The Little Mermaid) at HCTO. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from BYU. 

Glad to be back on the Centre Stage; Hailey was previously seen in our production of Titanic The Musical. Other favorite credits include: SpongeBob the Musical (Sandy Cheeks), Disney’s Tarzan (Jane), and Oklahoma! (Laurey) with SCERA Shell; and Ladybug (James and the Giant Peach). She has a degree in Public Relations from BYU and teaches in the education department at HCTO as well as working as a journalist/content creator for Utah Valley Magazine. “Thank you to Ryan, Alex, and Lindsey! And a huge thank you to the most wonderful and supportive husband on the planet, Jeff.”  

Returning to the Centre Stage! Haley was most recently seen on our 2021 production of Les Misérables  as Eponine. Other favorite stage credits include: The Last 5 Years (Cathy) and West Side Story (Maria). Haley earned her BFA in Music Dance Theatre from BYU and MFA in Musical Theatre Vocal Pedagogy from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and serves as the Director of Education for One Voice Children’s Choir as well as a Private Voice Instructor.

Rachel is ecstatic to be back on the Centre Stage in this production of Fiddler on the Roof. Previous stage credits include: Newsies (Katherine), Disney’s The Little Mermaid (Ariel), Treasure Island (Justice Death), and A Tale of Two Cities with Hale Centre Theatre; Footloose (Urleen) with Grandstreet Theatre; and The Bridges of Madison County (Carolyn) with Grandstreet Theatre. When not on stage, Rachel is a mentor with Rite Passage. “I may not know how to fiddle, but I know how to raise the roof.”

Thrilled to be back on the HCT stage. Erica’s credits include: HCT - Elf The Musical, Titanic The Musical (Kate Mullins), The Secret Garden (Martha); Sundance Summer Theatre - Cinderella (Charlotte); UVU - Is There An Actor in the House? (Natasha/Colombina), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Marcy Park), Urinetown The Musical (Little Becky Two Shoes), I and You (Caroline), and Les Misérables  as Eponine. She is pursuing her  BFA in Musical Theater from UVU and an Associate in Dance.

Making her HCT debut! Mackenzie is excited to join the Hale Centre Theatre family with this production of Fiddler on the Roof! Other favorite stage credits include: The Sound of Music (Louisa) with Sundance Summer Theatre and Godspell (Disciple) with UVU. Mackenzie is currently in pursuit of her BFA in Musical Theatre from Utah Valley University. 

DeLayne’s credits include: HCT - One for the Pot and Steel Magnolias; HCTO - ONCE, Sister Act, Little Women, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Annie, and Betty Blue Eyes; Sundance Summer Theatre - The Music Man; Scera - The Drowsy Chaperone and Noises Off, along with several other productions. She has served as director and musical director credits at HCTO, UVU, and Scera, including Matilda The Musical, A Christmas Story, James and the Giant Peach, and The Scarlet Pimpernel, just to name a few favorites. She has a music degree from BYU and loves working at COPA and with the education academies of HCT and HCTO. "Thank you to Ryan and the exceptional production team for including me in this deeply meaningful show! She has a BA in Music Theatre from Weber State.

Alex is excited to be back on the HCT stage; he was recently seen in our production A Christmas Carol 2023. Other notable credits include: HCT - The Unsinkable Molly Brown (Erich), The Secret Garden (Dr. Craven), A Tale of Two Cities (Gaspard) and The Pirate Queen; Midvale Main Street Theatre - Daddy Long Legs (Jervis); Pleasant Grove Players - She Loves Me (Georg); HCTO - Jane Eyre; Tuacahn - Les Misérables . Alex holds MS and BS degrees in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley and BYU, respectively. He teaches physics and directs the Discover Space Center at American Heritage School “Thank you, Melinda, you are the best!”

Austin is thrilled to be back at Hale Centre Theatre. HCT credits include: Lucky Stiff, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, The Pirates of Penzance, A Christmas Carol, and Fiddler on the Roof. Other favorite credits include: Clue and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder with HCTO; Something Rotten with Pioneer Theatre Company, Next To Normal, The Fantasticks, Candide, Wonderful Town, Oklahoma!, Anything Goes, Godspell, Hello, Dolly!, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest, Fools, and Good Doctor, in addition to lots of sketch comedy and improv. Austin graduated from BYU in Economics and Russian. He is also a graduate of the Second City Conservatory in Chicago.

A familiar face to our HCT audiences; Kelton’s HCT credits include: Around the World in 80 Days (Phileas Fogg), Titanic The Musical (Thomas Andrews), Treasure Island (Dr. Livesy), The Secret Garden (Dr. Neville Craven), A Tale of Two Cities (Charles Darnay), Murder on the Orient Express (Samuel Ratchett/James Arbuthnot), Cinderella (Jean-Michelle), and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Kelton holds a BA in Media Arts from BYU and works as a Multimedia Manager at BYU. “Much love to Emilie and Nellie. To Life!”

Some of Abram’s favorite stage credits include: A Tale of Two Cities, Bright Star, Phantom, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Joseph…Dreamcoat with HCT; Joseph…Dreamcoat with Live at the Eccles; Newsies and Peter and the Starcatcher with HCTO. This is dedicated to my mother, who was in the USO International Tour years ago and gave me my love of music and theater! Mom, thank you for all the sunrises and sunsets” 

Trevor is thrilled to be back on the HCT stage after his performance in Elf The Musical! Some of his favorite stage credits include: Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Singin’ in the Rain, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Les Misérables, Guys and Dolls, Little Shop of Horrors, Young Frankenstein, The Last 5 Years, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and Peter and the Starcatcher. Trevor has performed with several theatre companies throughout the Wasatch front. He attended Weber State for Musical Theatre, and when not on stage, he enjoys spending time with his adorable dog.

Christian is honored to be back on our Centre Stage. Favorite stage credits include: Treasure Island (Ezekiel Hazard), The Heart of Robin Hood and The Wizard of Oz with Hale Centre Theatre; Sister Act (Joey), The Hunchback of Notre Dame with HCTO; and Disney’s Tarzan with SCERA Shell. Christian graduated from BYU with a Bachelor’s in Teaching Social Science and puts that to use teaching Sociology and AP Human Geography at Lone Peak High School. “All success I’ve found has been a product of the incredible influence and support of my family, especially my dearest, Ryann Bailey Wawro”.

Jared is thrilled to be back on the HCT stage. Some favorite credits include: King Triton (The Little Mermaid), Signor Naccarelli (The Light in the Piazza), Christmas Present (A Christmas Carol 2021 & 2023) and Bishop of Digne (Les Misérables) with Hale Centre Theatre; The Voice of Audrey II (Little Shop of Horrors) with West Valley Arts; Giorgio Germont (La Traviata) with the St. George Opera; Opera NEO - La Cenerentola (Don Magnifico); American West Symphony - La Bohème (Marcello); and Kingsbury Hall - Bernstein’s Candide (Dr. Pangloss).

Glad to be back on the Hale Centre stage; Jake was most recently seen in our 2022 production of One of the Pot as Charlie. Other performing credits include: The Pirates of Penzance - Two Man Show and The Odd Couple (Oscar) with HCTO; Three Sisters (Vershinin), A Skull in Connemara (Mick), and Antigone (Creon) with NIU Theatre. Jake is an Adjunct Professor of Acting at BYU and Company Director and Artistic Director at COPA Acting Conservatory as well as a company member with Thrillonares Improv Theatre.

Rex has a BA in International Law and Diplomacy with a minor in Asian Studies from BYU and works as Marketing Director at BYU. “Love to Kate, Lily, Anna, Lucy, Rhone, and Theo!”

Bradley holds a BA in Theatre Education and an MA in Media Literacy and Film from BYU and works as a Fine Arts Specialist with the Canyons School District. “Love to Shawnda, Ton, Ike, and Bel. Some of Scott’s favorite credits include: Disney’s The Little Mermaid (Chef Louis & Prince Eric U/S and King Triton U/S) with Hale Centre; Camelot (Lancelot) and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Fredric Charlus), and The Scarlet Pimpernel (Percy Blakeney) with HCTO; The Play That Goes Wrong and Matilda The Musical (Mr. Wormwood) and A Christmas Story with SCERA; as well as Singin’ in the Rain (Don Lockwood), Les Misérables (Javert), and Oliver! (Fagin). By day, Scott works with his Dad in their family-owned company, Sport Court West, in Sales and Project management. “Thanks always to my loving and supportive Katie and our three beautiful boys.”

Hyrum is thrilled to be back on the HCT stage! His stage credits include: Newsies (Davey), Titanic The Musical, and Les Misérables with HCT; Footloose as Ren McCormack and Willy Wonka as Willy Wonka with Rigby High School; and Bright Star as Billy Cane with Playmill Theatre. Some of Evan’s favorite stage credits include: HCT - Singin’ in the Rain and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; University of Utah Babcock Theatre - Cabaret (Emcee) and The Lightning Thief (Hadles); HCTO - Newsies (Specs), Shrek Jr. (Lord Farquaad), Matilda, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Tuck Everlasting; and Sundance Summer Theatre - Joseph...Dreamcoat. Evan is working towards a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Ballet from The University of Utah. 

A familiar face to HCT audiences, Evan was recently seen in our production of Hello, Dolly! (Ambrose Kemper). Other favorite credits include: The Music Man (Tommy Djilas) with HCTO; Cinderella and Footloose with Sundance Summer Theater, and BYU’s Young Ambassadors (2020 - 2022). He is currently in the Masters of Accountancy program at BYU. “The best way out is always through.” - Robert Frost 

Making his HCT debut! Some of Ben’s favorite stage credits include: The Pirates of Penzance, Die Fledermaus, UrineTown, Fiddler on the Roof, and Godspell with BYU; Joseph…Dreamcoat, Man of La Mancha, and She Loves Me with Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre, as well as performing with BYU’s Young Ambassadors and Contemporary Dance Theatre. He is currently finishing his senior year at Brigham Young University in the Music Dance Theatre Program. “Anything worth doing is worth overdoing!” 

Excited to be back on the HCT stage! Jeremy was most recently seen in our productions of Newsies, and Hello, Dolly! and was previously seen in our 2020 production of Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom The Musical and also performed with Odyssey Dance Theatre for 3 years. Jeremy attended BYU and currently works as a dance instructor. “Sometimes, the best way to solve your own problems is to help someone else.” - Uncle Iroh 

Spencer is thrilled to be back on the Centre Stage. His favorite credits include: Elf The Musical, Titanic: The Musical and Singin’ in the Rain with Hale Centre Theatre; Anything Goes!, 42nd Street (5 times!), White Christmas, A Christmas Carol, Young Frankenstein, My Fair Lady, Brigadoon, Curtains, Oklahoma!, and Mamma Mia! He has a BFA in Musical Theatre from The Hartt School and an MBA from SUU. He works in Advertising in Salt Lake City. “Thank you to the entire team for making this happen! Shout out to my Momma!” 

Thrilled to be back on the HCT stage! Roman's favorite credits include: Newsies (both the 2018 & 2023 productions) and Disney’s Tarzan at HCT; Souvenirs (2019-2020) with BYU Young Ambassadors; as well as multiple shows in Utah and New York with his band Basement Waves as their lead singer. He is a graduate of BYU with a BA in Dance as well as being a licensed Massage Therapist. 

Ben returns to the HCT stage after previously being seen in our productions of Titanic The Musical, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and Zorro: The Musical! Other performing credits include: Sister Act, Mamma Mia, Elf the Musical, Bright Star, a Christmas Carol, and Kinky Boots (Arvada Center for the Arts); Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Joseph…Dreamcoat, and The Wizard of Oz (Tuacahn Amphitheatre), Swing! The Musical and Legends in Concert (Norwegian Cruise Lines); West Side Story (Music Theatre West); Grease, Footloose and Annie Get Your Gun (Jackson Hole Playhouse); Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Sundance Summer Theatre). Choreography credits include: West Side Story and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast with West Valley Arts and Annie Get Your Gun, Footloose, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Ballad of Cat Ballou, and Paint Your Wagon with the Jackson Hole Playhouse. Ben holds a BFA in dance from the University of Utah and is currently a faculty member with the Tanner Dance program at the U of U.

Tanner’s favorite credits include: Newsies (Davey) with Hale Centre Theatre; Little Women (Laurie) with HCTO; Footloose (Lyle) with Sundance Summer Theatre; Fiddler on the Roof (Mendel), Mary Poppins, and Chariots of Fire with BYU. Tanner graduated from BYU with a BFA in Music Dance Theatre, where he performed with the Young Ambassadors. 

Ecstatic to be back on the HCT stage! Amanda’s favorite credits include: Hello, Dolly! (Minnie Fay) on our Centre Stage. The Music Man,The Drowsy Chaperone (Kitty), and Bright Star with HCTO; Footloose (Ariel) with West Valley City Arts; The Music Man (Zaneeta) at Sundance Summer Theatre. She has a BFA in Music and Dance Theatre from BYU.

This is Ali’s third production of Fiddler on the Roof and first time as a Mama. Some of her favorite stage credits include: Titanic The Musical (Alice Beane), Lucky Stiff, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Baroness Bomburst in both our 2013 and 2022 productions), The Play That Goes Wrong (Annie), Seussical the Musical (Gertrude), Company (Amy), Xanadu (Calliope), Cinderella (Charlotte). She would like to thank her little gentleman, Benny, and the slew of babysitters for making this possible. Also, shout out to everyone involved (production team, crew, front of house) for making beautiful theatre happen for you lovely people.

Performing with theatre companies from coast to coast; Malia grew up at her grandparent's theatre, Pages Lane Theatre, now known as CenterPoint Legacy Theatre. Her first production of Fiddler on the Roof was when she was just 6 years old. Malia graduated from Harvard University with a Masters in Dramatic Arts and now works as a Singing Voice Specialist. Malia is represented by McCarty Talent Agency.

Cecily’s favorite credits include: Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, The Music Man, Little Women, Candide, The Secret Garden, Ragtime, The Pirate Queen, and Sweeney Todd. She has a performance diploma in Musical Theatre from the AMDA and both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music in Voice Performance from U of U. Cecily works as an Adjunct Professor in Vocal Performance at UVU and as a private vocal instructor. “Thank you to Ryan, Alex, Lindsey, and Sally for this wonderful opportunity to sing great music, to my family and friends who are so generous to help with the kids, and my three main guys: Justin, Clark, and Wyatt.”

Fiddler on the Roof marks Keolani’s 17th production with Hale Centre Theatre. One of her favorite credits include The Music Man in 2002, where she met her dance partner, Derek Smith, who four years later turned into her husband. So thankful to be a part of a production that is so near and dear to my heart. “This show is dedicated to my Great Great Grandma Toby, and the rest of the strong, Jewish women in my family who lived and experienced the real-world events that inspired portions of this story. מָסוֹרֶת (Tradition!)”. 

Making her HCT debut! Bretleigh is honored to join Hale Centre Theatre with this production of Fiddler on the Roof. Bretleigh holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from Weber State University and a Master of Arts Administration from Southern Utah University. 

Making her HCT debut! Jen comes to Hale Centre Theatre with an extensive resume, some of her favorite credits include: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Crazy For You, and Big Fish with Sandy Arts; The Drowsy Chaperone, Seussical The Musical, The Crucible, Princess Academy, and Disney’s Tarzan with Kensington Theatre; and Freaky Friday with The Empress Theatre.

Shawnda is excited to be back on the Hale Centre boards. Some of her favorite theatre endeavors include: Artistic Director for the Hill Cumorah Pageant; Charlotte Cardoza (Titanic The Musical) and Eulalie McKecknie Shinn (The Music Man) with HCT; Sweeney Todd with The Grand Theatre; Director of Next to Normal; Director of HCTO’s A Christmas Carol as well as performing and directing at different venues around the valley with productions such as Matilda The Musical, Catch Me In You Can, The Seagull, The Secret Garden, Drown’ed Book, and Lend Me A Tenor. She holds three degrees in Theatre Education and Directing. 

Making his HCT debut! Seth is honored to join the Hale Centre Theatre family with this production of Fiddler on the Roof. Other favorite stage credits include: The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Quasimodo) and Little Shop of Horrors (Voice of Audrey 2), both with Kensington Theatre Company. Seth graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies. “Thank you to my friends, Family, and most importantly, my dog Koda for always supporting me in everything I do!” 

Jared is excited to be back on the Centre Stage! Recent credits include: HCT - Titanic The Musical (Benjamin Guggenheim), Phantom (Minister of Culture) and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Saint Aphrodisius); West Valley Arts - Disney’s Beauty and the Beast; and Disney’s The Little Mermaid (Prince Eric) and Into the Woods (Rapunzel’s Prince). His music directing credits include Crazy for You, Little Women, and Annie. Jared has a degree in Music Therapy from USU with a minor in Psychology. He is a board-certified music therapist working in mental health settings throughout Salt Lake and Utah Counties.

Making his HCT debut! Kaeleb is thrilled to join the company of Fiddler on the Roof! Some favorite performing credits include: The Sound of Music with Draper Historic Theatre and Bright Star with The Empress Theatre as well as performing King of King & Lamb of God in such venues as Le 13ème Art in Paris, France, Lorely-Saal in Vienna, Austria, Slovakia Radio Hall Bratislava and in Slovakia, Hybernia Theatre Prague, Czechia. “Grammar is the whetstone upon which the orator and the author, sharpens the nib of his pen.” 

Gregory is thrilled to be back with HCT. Previous credits include: HCT - Titanic The Musical, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, A Christmas Carol 2021, and Phantom; The Grand Theatre - Dead Certain; West Valley Arts - Sweeney Todd; Riverton Arts Council - Disney’s Beauty and the Beast; and Kensington Theatre - Tuck Everlasting and West Side Story. He provided music direction for Next to Normal and Godspell and was a member of the Utah Opera Chorus for Carmen, La Boheme, and Moby Dick. Gregory studied vocal performance at the U of U, teaches singing lessons, and enjoys the study of chess. “You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love” - Jim Carrey.

Thrilled to be returning to the HCT stage! Peter’s favorite credits include: HCT - Titanic The Musical, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Joseph and the… Dreamcoat; Sandy Arts Guild - The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; WVC Arts Council - Forever Plaid; LDS Conference Center - Savior of the World; Jackson Hole Playhouse - Calamity Jane; Celebrating the Light National Tour; and three years performing with BYU’s Young Ambassadors. Peter has a BA from BYU and an MBA from the U of U. He works for the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity as managing director of business services and hosts the Business Elevated podcast.

Ecstatic to be back on the HCT stage! Shelby’s favorite credits include: Newsies (Don Seitz), The Hasty Heart (Tommy) with HCT as well as Hairspray (Edna Turnbald), Little Shop of Horrors (Orin Scrivello, DDS), Shrek The Musical (Shrek), Seussical the Musical (Horton the Elephant), The Odd Couple (Oscar Madison), and The Jungle Book (Baloo). Shelby resides in West Valley City with his wife and their cat & dogs. He works as a Business System Analyst for FIS. “Thanks to my Boricua Queen for always believing in me & supporting my dreams.”

Making her HCT debut! Kelsea is thrilled to play a part in this production of Fiddler on the Roof! Other favorite credits include: Mary Poppins (Winifred Banks) and Footloose (Ariel) with SCERA and A Christmas Carol (Belle) with Hale Center Theater Orem. Kelsea works as a youth theatre instructor at SCERA as well as a princess party performer. “Love and thanks to my husband and baby girls!” 

Making her HCT debut! Isa is honored to join the company of Fiddler on the Roof! Some of her favorite credits include: 42nd Street (Ann Reilly) and Cinderella with CenterPoint Legacy Theatre as well as productions of Tuck Everlasting, A Christmas Carol, and Children of Eden. Isa is in her third year in the MTP program at the University of Utah, working towards her BFA in Musical Theatre. “A special shoutout to my Mom and Dad for their endless love and support. Grateful for this opportunity and all that is to come.” 

Making his HCT debut! Radley comes to Hale Centre Theatre with an extensive resume! Some of his favorite credits include: Les Misérables, The Lightning Thief, 12 Angry Jurors, and Puffs with Herriman High School as well as Newsies with Herriman Arts Council. “Do things on your own terms, do things in your own time, do things for yourself, and give everything away.” - Jacob Collier 

Returning to the Centre Stage, James was most recently seen in our 2021 production of Les Misérables as Gavroche. Other favorite credits include: Newsies Jr. (Les) with Timpanogos Youth Theatre and Camelot (Young Arthur/Young Tom), Tuck Everlasting (Thomas), A Chirtsmas Carol (Tiny Tim) with Hale Center Theater Orem. When not on stage, James is an avid speed cuber and can solve a 3x3 cube in 15 seconds. He also enjoys oil painting. “Thanks for everything, Mom and Dad! I love doing this show with you, Mom!”

Afton has trained in Musical Theatre and Dance at Utah COPA in American Fork since she was five years old. Afton would like to dedicate this performance to her grandparents.

Making her HCT debut! Eliza comes to Hale Centre Theatre with an extensive resume. Favorite stage credits include: Into the Woods (Little Red) with SCERA, Little Shop of Horrors (Crystal) and The Addams Family (Wednesday) as well as several productions at HCTO’s Youth Stage such as Joseph..Dreamcoat, Newsies Jr., Legally Blonde Jr., Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr., and Descendants Jr.. “Thank you, Team, for this amazing opportunity, and thank you, friends and family, for always being there for me.” 

Returning to the Hale Centre Stage; Tessa was most recently seen in our productions of Hans Christian Andersen in New York (Carol) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Jemima). Other stage credits include: Broadway National Tour of Waitress (Lulu); The Music Man (Amaryllis) and A Christmas Carol (Little Fan) with HCTO; A Christmas Story The Musical with Pioneer Theatre Company; and Matilda The Musical (Amanda Tripp) with ACT. “Thank you to everyone at Hale Centre Theatre for this amazing opportunity, and thanks to my family for always supporting me!” 

Some of Hailey’s favorite credits include the Broadway National Tour of How The Grinch Stole Christmas (Annie Who); HCT - Hans Christian Andersen in New York (Carol Fox), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Jemima), A Tale of Two Cities (Little Lucie), and Frozen Kids (Young Elsa); ACT - Matilda The Musical (Matilda); Pioneer Theater Company - Once (Ivonka); BYU - Turn of the Screw (Flora); and HCTO - A Christmas Carol Youth (Ghost of Christmas Past). Aaron is honored to return to the HCT stage! He most recently played in our productions of The Light in the Piazza, Treasure Island, and Always…Patsy Cline. He holds a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance and performs/records with Disney, Pixar, Warner-Chappell Production Music, and the Aaron Ashton Band. 

Julie is honored to play along with this production of Fiddler on The Roof! Favorite Musical Theatre credits include: Treasure Island and The Light in the Piazza with Hale Centre Theatre and Elf The Musical and Fiddler on the Roof with Pioneer Theatre Company as well as serving as Concertmaster for ‘Into the Spiderverse: Live in Concert’ US Tour. Julie earned her BA from Brigham Young University and MM from Cleveland Institute of Music. ‘If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude” - Maya Angelou 

Ryan returns to the director chair after helming our productions of Hello, Dolly!, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, One for the Pot, and The Play That Goes Wrong. Ryan is also a familiar performer on our stages, most recently starring as Passepartout in Around the World in 80 Days.. Other HCT stage credits include: The Cat in the Hat (Seussical The Musical), Mr. Wormwood (Matilda The Musical), Lumiere (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast), and the titular role in The Nerd in both our 2016 and 2006 productions. Ryan's award-winning one-man show has toured around Utah for years and was produced at the United Solo Theatre Festival in NYC last year. He is an adjunct professor in the Theatre Department at both Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University. 

Originally from Utah, Lindsey relocated to the East Coast after graduating from the University of Utah with her BFA in Modern Dance. She spent 5 years as a Radio City Rockette, where she toured over 50 cities and kicked at Radio City Music Hall. At Walt Disney World, she was a choreographer and teaching artist for Disney Performing Arts and a performer in ‘Beauty and the Beast Live’ On Stage as well as the Halloween show ‘Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular’. Lindsey likes to keep busy between choreographing, teaching, and performing. She is HCT’s Resident Dance and Movement Specialist. HCT credits include: Elf The Musical, Around the World in 80 Days, Hans Christian Andersen in New York, Disney's The Little Mermaid, Titanic The Musical, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Singin’ in the Rain, Guys and Dolls, and The Secret Garden. Choreography credits in Orlando include: Matilda The Musical and Hello, Dolly! (The Garden Theatre); Tuck Everlasting and A Year With Frog and Toad (The Orlando Repertory Theatre), the Orlando Fringe Festival, and Disney Event Group.

Alex Marshall, M.M. Instrumental Conducting, B.M. Piano Performance, has been the music director for the University of Utah since 2007. Alex is an active member of the professional musical community in Utah, he regularly performs with its premier institutions, including the Utah Symphony, Pioneer Theatre Company, Hale Centre Theatre, and many others. International performance credits include France, London, and Taiwan. Recording credits include David Park Plays Fritz Kreisler and Passion of the Soul with Centaur Records. Recent stage credits include: Hans Christian Andersen in New York and The Unsinkable Molly Brown with Hale Centre Theatre, and The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical and Cabaret with the University of Utah. Alex also gratefully serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Hale Centre Theatre. All my love to Jackie, Kimi, Henry, and Penny!        

Jess is thrilled to be at the helm of Fiddler on the Roof. Her twenty-plus-year career includes a wide variety of productions, from intimate one-man dramas with provocative and social impact to large-scale spectacles. Large musicals and Shakespeare are her favorite genres to stage manage, but right now, she really enjoys working on a diverse range of projects throughout the year thanks to the opportunities provided by working as a Production Stage Manager at Hale Centre Theatre. 

As Projections Designer, Madeline’s work was recently seen in productions of Light in the Piazza, Silent Sky, Hans Christian Andersen in New York, Unsinkable Molly Brown, Daddy Long Legs, and more at HCT. She has also been able to design Scenery for HCT for Silent Sky, Daddy Long Legs, Murder on the Orient Express, Oklahoma! (Sundance); Fire! and Singing to the Brine Shrimp (Plan B Theatre). Madeline earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from Utah Valley University. 

Dennis Wright is happy to return to Hale Centre Theatre after designing costumes for Catch Me If You Can, Titanic! The Musical, and Lucky Stiff. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Clothing & Textiles with a minor in Theatre Arts. He also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Boston University in Theatrical Costume Design. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Theatre & Media Arts Department at BYU and head of the Design & Tech area. Dennis spent 10 years as a Costumer, Costume Designer, and Project Manager with Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. While there, he designed character costumes, attraction uniforms, and contributed to multiple live-stage productions. Dennis has designed costumes for productions at BYU, UofU, Jackson Hole Playhouse, American Repertory Theatre, The Barn Theater, The Scera Shell, Signature Productions of Las Vegas, and Hale Center Theater Orem.

Recent Hale Centre Theatre credits for Marianne include the Lighting Design for Catch Me If You Can, See How They Run, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Silent Sky, The Light in the Piazza, Daddy Long Legs, and Bright Star. She works as a Lighting Designer and Lighting Manager for BYU's Theatre and Media Arts Department. Marianne holds her Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University and her Master’s Degree from the University of Idaho. Recent designs for BYU include Godspell, Fiddler on the Roof, and Pride and Prejudice. She also enjoys designing for Utah Metropolitan Ballet.

Michelle has always loved telling stories. Being Native Hawaiian has helped her gain experience in events from a young age. She decided to dive into finding out more about sound and how it functions. This path led her to her MFA in Sound for the Performing Arts from Purdue University. She has designed shows from Utah to Indiana, toured the United States and Central America, worked with touring groups from Olivia Newton-John to Pentatonix, and has worked many local performances in multiple states. Michelle loves theater and being able to use sound to help tell the story. She currently serves as one of the Sound Commissioners of the United States Institute of Theater Technology (USITT) and is a member of the Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA). She'd like to say: “Thank you to my outstanding sound team and all of your hard work!”

Michelle is extremely passionate about details, research, beautiful and interesting “things,” anything to do with flowers and opening packages. She recently designed her 106th with our production of Elf The Musical, some of her other favorite designs have included The Drowsy Chaperone, Over The River...,Les Misérables, Tuck Everlasting, My Fair Lady, AIDA, A Tale of Two Cities, Cinderella, Silent Sky, and She Loves Me. She retired from teaching first grade after 32 years. Michelle is thrilled to be part of the HCT production team and is grateful for the encouragement and support of her three beautiful daughters, two charming sons-in-law, and her amazing husband, Steve. 

Krissa has been with HCT for 10 years. Some of her favorite hair and makeup designs include Titanic The Musical, Lucky Stiff, Treasure Island (2022), A Tale of Two Cities (2021), Bright Star, Seussical, AIDA, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (2013 and 2021), She Loves Me, and Peter and the Starcatcher. Krissa holds an MFA in Wig and Make-up Design from the University of Cincinnati CCM, a BFA in Theater Tech/Design from Millikin University and is also a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Utah. Krissa has previously worked for Utah Shakespeare Festival, Sarasota Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, and Utah Opera. “I am so grateful to be part of the dream team in the wig shop. Thanks to HCT for giving me the opportunity to do what I love. Enjoy the show!!"
