Merry Christmas, Everyone!

As we celebrate the 40th annual production of *A Christmas Carol* I am filled with gratitude and nostalgia. Having directed this cherished show for 21 years and part of the production for 23 years, I feel a profound connection to both the story and the community that surrounds it.

Each year, we strive to evolve this timeless tale, finding new ways to engage and entertain while honoring Charles Dickens' original vision. Since our transition to the Jewel Box stage in Sandy, Utah, this evolution has accelerated, and the excitement continues to grow! I hope you find comfort in this beloved story, one that reminds us all of the joy and warmth we need during this season.

As we journey alongside Ebenezer Scrooge through each Stave, we see how the "Scrooge" in all of us can learn, heal, and embrace the promise of a new year. This year’s production is designed to be particularly redemptive, inviting each of you to experience the transformative power of the narrative.

While we are always thrilled about the new elements we bring to the story, just like the Ghost of Christmas Past we are always reminded of the legacy of those who came and performed with us before. This past year, we lost Tom Stam, who played the Ghost of Christmas Present for the first 25 years of the production. His powerful presence and voice shall always be remembered as a foundation of the story we tell.

I am deeply thankful for the collaboration with our remarkable production team that always strives to provide fresh eyes to a timeless story. A heartfelt thank you to Justin, David, Megan, Tyson, Michelle, Jaron, Andrew, Madeline, Marnee’, Alaina, Nick, Danna, Mauri and Michael for your incredible talents.

Lastly, my sincere gratitude goes to Mark and Sally for fostering such a wonderful, creative environment. I appreciate the support and inspiration you provide to me personally, but also for what you have done for the community over the last 40 years!

Thrilled to be back for his 20th year as Ebenezer Scrooge on the HCT stage! Stephen is honored to bring Ebenezer Scrooge to life once again.  Recent stage credits include: Mordcha the Innkeeper (Fiddler on the Roof), Ebenezer Scrooge (A Christmas Carol), John Barsad (A Tale of Two Cities, both our 2011 and 2021 productions), Admiral Boom (Mary Poppins), Man in the Yellow Suit (Tuck Everlasting), Pap Finn (Big River), Dubhdara O’Malley (The Pirate Queen), Thernardier (Les Misérables), Lord Scrumptious/Toymaker (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) along with many and many years as Ebenezer Scrooge with Hale Centre Theatre along with Fagin (Oliver!) and Mayor Josiah Dobbs (Bright Star) with HCTO.  “Thank you, Mark & Sally, for trusting me with this iconic role since the passing of Richard Wilkins in 2012. I dedicate this year to him and his loving family!”

Ecstatic to be back on the Jewel Box stage! Some of Chase’s favorite performing credits include: HCT- Forever Plaid, A Christmas Carol, Joseph…Dreamcoat, and The Scarlet Pimpernel; HCTO - Seussical The Musical (Cat in the Hat), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Frollo); Covey Center- Forever Plaid; CenterPoint Legacy Theatre-Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, The Civil War, and Hello, Dolly!.  Chase holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Utah Valley University. Off stage, he works as a vocal & acting instructor as well as a co-producer with 42nd.Club. 

Excited to be back on the Jewel Box Stage! Josh was most recently seen in our production of  The Magician’s Elephant.  Other favorite credits include: Hale Centre Theatre - Around the World in 80 Days, Titanic The Musical, Lucky Stiff, The Light in the Piazza, Les Misérables and Disney Tarzan; Ziegfeld Theatre - Bright Star and Comedy of Errors (Director); Noorda Center for the Arts - Fly More Than You Fall; Utah Shakespeare Festival - Guys & Dolls, Mary Poppins, Shakespeare in Love, and The Cocoanuts; as well as productions at The Hive Collaborative, Sacramento Theatre Company, and Pickleville Playhouse. Josh holds a Bachelor's in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Classical Acting from Southern Utah University.

Anthony is proud to be joining A Christmas Carol for his fifteenth year. Other stage credits include: Mr. Paravacini (The Mousetrap), Michel (Murder on the Orient Express), Prince of Wales/Robespierre (The Scarlet Pimpernel), The Child Catcher (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) with Hale Centre Theatre - one of few actors that have performed at all 3 locations of HCT; Clue (Professor Plum) with West Valley Performing Arts; and The 39 Steps with HCTO and CenterPoint Legacy Theatre.  He also has fourteen audiobooks on Audible.  Anthony is a graduate of Granger High School as well as USU and he is always working to improve his craft, currently with Panic Room VO Labs. When not plying his craft, he works for ARUP Laboratories. “Thank you, Mom, for your loving support and for being my #1 fan.” 

Rex’s favorite roles include: Fiddler on the Roof (Constable) and Titanic The Musical (Murdock) with Hale Centre Theatre; Les Misérables (Javert), Camelot (King Arthur), The Sound of Music (Captain Von Trapp), Tuck Everlasting (Angus Tuck), and Annie (Oliver Wardbucks) with HCTO; Footloose (Reverend Shaw) with West Valley Arts; South Pacific (Emile de Becque);  and Noises Off (Lloyd Dallas) with SCERA.  Rex has a BA in International Law and Diplomacy with a minor in Asian Studies from BYU and works as Marketing Director at BYU. “Much love to Kate, Lily, Anna, Lucy, Rhone, and Theo.”

Excited to be back on the HCT Stage! This will be Matt’s 12th Holiday Season with A Christmas Carol! Other favorite credits include: Newsies, Treasure Island, Wait Until Dark, To Kill a Mockingbird, Arsenic and Old Lace, and Big Fish with multiple theaters, including Hale Centre Theatre, Hale Center Theater Orem, and Desert Star Playhouse. Matt graduated from Utah State University with a BFA in Theatre Arts Performance/Directing. “Happy wife, happy life.”

Aioleoge is thrilled to be back on the HCT stage. Some favorite credits include: Lazar Wolf (Fiddler on the Roof), King Triton (The Little Mermaid), Signor Naccarelli (The Light in the Piazza), Christmas Present (A Christmas Carol 2021 & 2023) and Bishop of Digne (Les Misérables) with Hale Centre Theatre; The Voice of Audrey II (Little Shop of Horrors), Professor Callehan (Legally Blonde), Doc (West Side Story), and The Baker (Into The Woods) with West Valley Arts; Giorgio Germont (La Traviata) with the St. George Opera.

Taylor’s HCT credits include: Cinderella (Lord Pinkleton), A Christmas Carol (Ghost of Christmas Present), and The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Other favorite credits include: West Valley Arts - Sleepy Hollow (Hans Van Ripper) and Sweeney Todd; Murray Arts - Shrek The Musical (Shrek) and Disney’s Beauty and The Beast (Beast); Hart Theatre Company - The Wild Party (Burs); CenterPoint Theatre - A Tale of Two Cities (Sydney Carton) and 1776 (Edward Rutledge); and Salt Lake Shakespeare - The Last Five Years (Jamie).  Taylor holds a BFA from the U of U.  “Thank you to Amanda, Evie, and Miles for letting me share this message on being present this season! John is no stranger to the Hale stage; he has been in numerous productions with us over the years including One for the Pot, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and A Christmas Carol. He lists one of his favorite roles as the title character in Joseph... Dreamcoat (Centerpoint Legacy Theatre). When not on stage, John works as a Software Engineer. “Giving my life to a Rainbow like you.”

Thrilled to be returning to our Stage after his HCT debut with last season’s A Christmas Carol. Mark’s favorite credits include: Spoon River Anthology with Wasatch Theatre Company; Julius Caesar and Lucia Di Lamermoore with Utah Symphony and Opera; Saturday’s Voyeur with Salt Lake Acting Company; Wait with Pygmalion; and Haunted Halloween with Jackson Hole Playhouse. Mark is pursuing his Theatre Arts Degree from SLCC. “Live Passionately”

Making his HCT debut!  Matthew’s favorite credits include the Off-Broadway production of Pinkalicious: The Musical; as well as Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Romeo and Juliet at the Utah Shakespeare Festival; Into the Burrow with Alliance Theatre; Juliet and Romeo with Catalyst Theatre; Beauty and the Beast and New Sheriff in Town with Pickleville Playhouse; and Cabaret, Falsettos, and Into the Woods at Southern Utah University.  Matthew holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Southern Utah University.

Maxx was most recently seen in our production of The Magician’s Elephant! Maxx’s other favorite stage credits include: Titanic The Musical and A Christmas Carol 2023 with HCT; Once with HCTO; A Tale of Two Cities (Young Man/Carton & Darnay understudy), West Side Story (Tony) and Little Shop of Horrors with West Valley Performing Arts; and RENT (Roger) with The Ziegfeld Theatre. By day, Maxx works as an Acting and Vocal Coach. “If I don’t give it all I’ve got, I can never be at peace.” 

Ben is so happy to be back on the Jewel Box stage! Some of his favorite performing credits include: The Magician's Elephant, Tuck Everlasting, A Christmas Carol 2023, and The Heart of Robin Hood with Hale Centre Theatre; Catch Me If You Can with Bingham High School; and Les Misérables with Kensington Theater Company. Benjamin is currently a Junior at UVU studying in the Personal Financial Planning Program and works as an Independent Life & Disability insurance agent. “Love People.”

Thrilled to be back on the HCT stage! Ethan’s favorite credits include Newsies with HCT; The Drowsy Chaperone, A Christmas Carol, and James and the Giant Peach with HCTO; The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Utah Valley Players; The Taming of the Shrew with Renaissance Now; Sweeney Todd at Timpanogos Community Theatre; and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers with SCERA Shell.  He is currently a Junior at UVU in the BFA program for Musical Theatre, and when not on stage or in class, he builds sets for UVU productions.  “If we're not supposed to dance, then why all this music?”

Doug’s favorite performing credits include: May We All (Wilbur) and A Christmas Carol 2023 with HCT; Into the Woods (Cinderella’s Prince), Something Rotten! (Nigel Bottom) and Big Fish (Will Bloom) with Centerpoint Legacy Theatre and Into the Woods (Prince Swing) with West Valley Performing Arts. He is currently studying for his BFA at Utah Valley University. “Ultimately, I’m so grateful for my wife Heather and all the beauty she brings to our life.”

Brett is thrilled to be returning to the HCT stage. HCT credits include: The Magician's Elephant (Count Quintet), See How They Run (Lionel Toop), Newsies (Bunsen), Treasure Island (Ben Gunn/Jemmy Rathbone), A Christmas Carol, and Disney’s Tarzan (Snipes). Other favorites include: The Foreigner with HCTO and Shakespeare in Love with West Valley Arts, as well as Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour), A Tuna Christmas (Arles) with Renaissance Players; Into the Woods (Baker), Catch Me If You Can (Hanratty), Spamalot (Patsy), The Foreigner (Charlie) with Pull-Tight Players. Directing credits include: A Year with Frog and Toad, The Canterville Ghost (Parker Theatre); Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Annie, Church Basement Ladies (Renaissance Players); Tick, tick...boom!, John and Jen (Street Theatre Company). Brett has served as a dialect coach in over 40 productions across the United States and abroad. He is a speech-language pathologist and Director of Clinical Education at the University of Utah Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. 

Returning to the HCT stage! Ryland’s favorite credits include A Christmas Carol 2023 and Newsies (Roosevelt) with HCT; and Newsies and Welcome to Dangerville (Mayor Dingus) with Pickleville Playhouse. Ryland has worked with several theater companies in Utah and around the United States, including The Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, New York, and Tuacahn Amphitheater in Ivins, Utah.  He is currently studying PR and Communications at UVU.  “Special thanks to my parents, family, and friends for your endless support and encouragement throughout the years.”

Some of Zack’s favorite stage credits include: Elf and A Christmas Carol 2022 with Hale Centre Theatre; Catch Me If You Can (Frank Abagnale Jr) with Music Theatre West; The Lightning Thief (Luke) with West Valley Arts; Into the Woods (Cinderella’s Prince) and Phantom of the Opera (Raoul) with Snow College; Freaky Friday (Adam) with St. George Musical Theatre; and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Mitch Mahoney) with Utah State Opera Theatre. Zack has a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Voice emphasis from Utah State University, and works at North Ogden Jr High as the Director of Choir and Theatre. “It’s alway such an honor to perform with my incredible wife, Rachel! And remember, everyone has a story worth telling.”

Making his HCT debut! Casey’s favorite credits include Disney The Little Mermaid with Scera Shell Theater; Machinal with UVU; and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame with the Timpanogos Arts Foundation.  He is currently a senior in the Musical Theater BFA at Utah Valley University. “Muppet Christmas Carol is the superior movie adaptation. Also, thanks for being here!”

Making his HCT debut! Dan’s favorite credits include: Newsies (Spot Conlon) with Sundance Summer Theatre; My Fair Lady with Hale Centre Theatre Orem; and The Secret Garden (Dr. Craven) with BYU.  Dan is currently Studying at BYU to obtain his BFA in Music Dance Theater. When not on stage, he teaches private voice and piano lessons at The Piano Place.  “Lots of love to Momma and the family!”

Bryan is excited to be back on the HCT Stage after previously playing in our recent productions of May We All, School of Rock, A Christmas Carol 2021, 2022, and 2023 and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Other performing credits include: Sleepy Hollow (Balthus) with West Valley Arts; Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Beast) with Timpanogos Arts; The Drowsy Chaperone (Robert Martin) with SCERA and Lehi Arts; Pride and Prejudice (Charles Bingley) with Creekside Theatre Fest; and A Christmas Carol - A One Man Show with The Covey. Bryan graduated from BYU with a degree in mechanical engineering and works as a Software Developer at Ancestry for their DNA team. “Thank you to my awesome family and super supportive wife, Shay!” 

Always proud to appear on the HCT stage, Quinn was most recently seen as J. Bruce Ismay in Titanic The Musical. Other HCT credits include: Archibald Craven (The Secret Garden), Bishop of Digne( Les Misérables), Wally Strand (Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom The Musical), Chauvelin (The Scarlet Pimpernel), Robert Summen (The Heart of Robin Hood), Adam Pontipee  (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), Gaston (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast), and Chef Louis in (Disney The Little Mermaid).  He also travels nationally with the Party Rock Project.  Quinn has an Undergraduate Degree in Music and a Master’s in Business from USU and is currently the VP & Executive Director for HCT. “I am grateful to my family for putting up with my love of performing.”

Cecily’s favorite credits include: Fiddler on the Roof, Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, The Music Man, Little Women, Candide, The Secret Garden, Ragtime, The Pirate Queen, and Sweeney Todd. She has a performance diploma in Musical Theatre from the AMDA and both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music in Voice Performance from U of U. Cecily works as an Adjunct Professor in Vocal Performance at UVU and as a private vocal instructor. “Thank you to John, David, Justin, and Mark & Sally for this wonderful opportunity to sing great music, to my family and friends who are so generous to help with the kids, and my three main guys: Justin, Clark, and Wyatt.”

Celebrating her eighth year as a part of HCT’s A Christmas Carol and her third in the role of Mrs. Cratchit! Other stage credits include: Sunday School Musical and Spamilton with Desert Star Playhouse and Annie (Grace) and See How They Run (Penelope) with Hale Center Theater Orem, as well as several other productions with Hale Centre Theatre, Pioneer Theatre, Centerpoint Legacy Theatre, The Grand Theatre, and the Pearl Theatre in NYC. Jessica holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Westminster College as well as a Bachelor’s in Musical Theatre from WSU and is a teacher for the Davis School District.

Brooklynn is excited to return to the Jewel Box Stage once again as Mrs. Fezziwig/Charwoman. Other favorite HCT credits include: Truvy Jones (Steel Magnolias), Ursula (Disney The Little Mermaid), Baroness (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), and Roz (9 to 5: The Musical), along with the national tour of Hairspray (Tracy Turnblad) from 2006-2009. Her directing credits include Spring Awakening with Hart Theatre Company, Legally Blonde with West Valley Performing Arts as well as numerous productions at Desert Star Playhouse. When not on stage or directing those on stage, she works for Peek Travel as well as being a mother to Ruby Rose, wife to Matt, Utah Jazz enthusiast, and a mediocre impersonator of Jennifer Coolidge."There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.” Charles Dickens

Amber is so happy to be able to, once again, spend the holidays with A Christmas Carol. Some other favorite credits include: Guys & Dolls, Ragtime, Nunsense, 9 to 5 The Musical, A Tale of Two Cities, and Legally Brunette, as well as numerous commercial and film projects. “Thank you to my sweetheart, Kurt, for all the loving support. ‘The greatest thing you will ever learn is to be loved and be loved in return’ “.   

Thrilled to be back on the HCT stage!  Koryn’s favorite credits include A Christmas Carol 2023 and Hans Christian Andersen in New York with HCT; Sister Act with Studio Reds; Seussical The Musical with Kayenta Center for the Arts; and Studio Reds: Sister Act.  She is certified in Personal Training, Nutrition coaching, and corrective exercise specialization from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and works as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Coach.  “A Christmas Carol holds a special place in my heart, and HCT brings so much life into it! Our show is so much more than a performance; it is a transformative experience that brings a special light into so many lives! I count myself lucky to be a part of something so magical.”

Happy to be back on the HCT stage so soon! Jordyn was most recently in our production of The Magician’s Elephant. Other favorite performing credits include: A Christmas Carol and The Light in the Piazza with HCT; A Tale of Two Cities (Assistant Director) and Shakespeare in Love with West Valley Arts; and Kinky Boots, 9 to 5 The Musical, and Bright Star with Ziegfeld Theatre. Jordyn holds a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from SUU and is a BAST Certified singing teacher as well as a licensed  Kindermusik Instructor.  When not on stage, Jordyn works as a voice teacher and Kindermusik Instructor. “The best progress is made with at least one foot out of the comfort zone.”

Ivy is honored to once again spend her holiday season on the Jewel Box stage. Her favorite credits include: A Christmas Carol 2023 with Hale Centre Theatre, Into the Woods with West Valley Performing Arts, and It Happened One Christmas with Pioneer Theater. When not on stage, she works at Shining Stars Academy Preschool. “Here we come a-caroling! Thank you to my wonderful husband, Jacob, for putting up with me  singing these Christmas songs since August!”

Happy to be back on the HCT stage, Savannah’s resume includes May We All (Kylie Coates) with HCT;  Aldonza with the Jimmy Awards in 2022 at the Minskoff Theater in New York City; Fiddler on the Roof (Chava) with Regalo Theater Company; Mean Girls (Regina George); The Sound of Music (Liesl Von Trapp) with SCERA Outdoor Theater; Matilda The Musical (Mrs. Wormwood) with Skyridge Theater; as well as Into The Woods Jr. (The Witch) with the Lehi Arts Council. She is a graduate of Salt Lake School of the Performing Arts. “To the dreamers that the world calls fools, and who dream anyway.” 

Thrilled to be returning to the HCT stage for her third year with our production of A Christmas Carol. Some favorite stage credits include: Into The Woods and Disney’s Beauty and The Beast (Belle) with West Valley Arts; The Removalists (Fiona Carter) and Grease (Frenchy) with The Australian Acting Academy; Cat Ballou (Cheyenne Rose) with The Jackson Hole Playhouse as well as productions of Phantom of the Opera, High School Musical, and The Pirates of Penzance. Breearna earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Dance Theatre from BYU. Breearna hails from Brisbane, Australia!

Honored to be a part of this year's production of A Christmas Carol! Dawn was recently seen in our production of May We All as Jenna Coates.  Her other HCT credits include Matilda The Musical (Miss Honey), Big Fish (The Witch), and The Wedding Singer (Holly). 

Making her HCT debut!  Hanna’s favorite credits include The Lightning Thief (Annabeth) with West Valley Performing Arts; A Christmas Carol (Belle/Fred’s Wife/Christmas Future) and Emma The Musical (Jane Fairfax) with HCTO; and Jekyll and Hyde (Emma Carew). She is currently studying for her BFA in Musical Theatre at UVU. “Thank you to her family and friends for their love and support! She hopes this show will “haunt you pleasantly.”

Thrilled to be back on the Jewel Box Stage! Rachel’s favorite credits include: A Christmas Carol (2022) with HCT; Catch Me If You Can (Brenda Strong), Disney’s Beauty and The Beast and The Sound of Music with Music Theatre West; (Violet), Orpheus and the Underworld (Eurydice), and L’incoronazione di poppea (Amor) with USU Opera Theatre, as well as musical director for Les Misérables with Utah Festival Conservatory of the Performing Arts. Rachel holds a degree from USU in Vocal Performance. When not on stage she teaches voice full time with her private studio, Rachel Marie Music Studio. 

Sarah is thrilled to be back on the HCT stage! She was recently seen in our production of The Magician’s Elephant. Other favorite credits include How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (Miss Jones) and Oliver! (Mrs. Sowerberry/Mrs. Bedwin) with HCTO as well as The Sound of Music (Mother Abbess) with SCERA. She holds a Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance from SUU and Master’s in vocal performance from BYU.

Returning for her sixth year of A Christmas Carol with HCT! Other favorite credits include: The Secret Garden and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast with Hale Centre Theatre; Thais and Sweeney Todd with Utah Opera; Phantom of the Opera, Calamity Jane, and Dracula with Desert Star Playhouse; as well as performing with Holland America Cruise Line as a featured soprano.  Jennifer holds both a Bachelor's and Masters in Vocal Performance from the U of U and works as an Escrow Assistant for Advanced Title, Private Vocal Instructor, and Lead Vocals for The Mixed Nuts Jazz Band. “Thanks to my parents and family for always being so supportive.”

Tara is thrilled to be spending her holidays on the HCT stage! Other favorite stage credits include: Titanic The Musical and School of Rock with Hale Centre Theatre; Mamma Mia! (Donna) with Draper Arts Council; A Christmas Story (Mother) at SCERA; and Joseph…Dreamcoat (Narrator) at Alpine Community Theatre. “Thank you for this opportunity, John, Justin, and David! And all the love to my favorites: Bry, Soph, Jamo, and Vic!”

Back for her sixth year of A Christmas Carol! Luana is thrilled to be performing on the HCT Stage once again. Making his HCT debut! James comes to our stage with a lot of performance experience for someone so young as he has played with his family band at different venues all across Utah. When not on stage, he is a busy elementary student.

Maxwell graduated from Hillcrest in the spring and is now a student at BYU. “Huge thank you to those at Hale Centre Theatre who have taught me so much, my family, and to all those who have supported me.”

Cameron is honored to be a part of this year's production of A Christmas Carol. Other credits include Jason Hewlett: Musical Tribute (guitar and keyboard),Time Machine (Musical Score Composer), Singin’ in the Rain (Grip), School of Rock (Zack Mooneyham), Newsies (Les), The Wizard of Oz (Toto Puppeteer), Disney’s Beauty and The Beast (Chip), Matilda (Eric), and Big FIsh (Young Will). He is currently enrolled at Southeastern University in Florida.

Alice is honored to return to the HCT Stage! Some favorite stage credits include: Marcy (School of Rock), Jane Banks (Mary Poppins), Liesl (Sound of Music Youth), and Martha Cratchit (A Christmas Carol 2020) with Hale Centre Theatre; and July (Annie) with HCTO. She graduated from High School in the spring and is now attending BYU. “Thanks to HCT, David Smith, and Mark and Sally for being such a wonderful part of my childhood. I’m so grateful to be spending this Christmas season doing what I love most.” 

Honored to be part of A Christmas Carol once more, Olivia has been seen as Madison in School of Rock as well as Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden.  Her other HCT credits include  Young Eponine in Les Misérables,  Little Fan/Harriet Cratchit/Want in  A Christmas Carol 2020, Lee Lee in 2017’s A Bundle of Trouble, and Hortensia in Matilda. Olivia is a busy middle schooler who not only plays in her family band,  Waiting for James, she is also part of Ripcord Revival.

Excited to be a part of HCT’s A Christmas Carol once again, Suzanne’s performing credits include: Nauvoo and British pageants; Joseph...Dreamcoat; Concertmaster and Mary Magdalene in Lamb of God in South Jordan (2019 & 2023); The Music Man (Maud Dunlap) with Sandy Arts Guild; as well as playing the violin with the Salt Lake Symphony (2000 - 2016) and playing the violin for Big River and A Christmas Carol. She also appeared in Fiddler on the Roof (Hodel), Oliver!, Annie Get Your Gun, The King and I, and Annie. Suzanne graduated from BYU with her bachelor's degree in nursing, and when not on stage, she works as a violin teacher and an RN at Intermountain Healthcare.

Aaron is honored to return to the HCT stage! He most recently played in our productions of May We All, Fiddler on the Roof, The Light in the Piazza, Treasure Island, and Always…Patsy Cline. He holds a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance and performs/records with Disney, Pixar, Warner-Chappell Production Music, and the Aaron Ashton Band. 

This year marks the 21st consecutive year that John has directed Hale Centre Theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol.  In addition, John has directed numerous Hale Centre Theatre favorites including: A Tale of Two Cities (2011), Mary Poppins (2014), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (2016), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (2013), Disney’s The Little Mermaid (2015), Big Fish, Phantom (2009 & 2019), Fiddler on the Roof (2010), Big: The Musical, 9 to 5: The Musical, and The Scarlet Pimpernel (2018). John is originally from the east coast and was a working actor for many years at theaters in and around NYC with Broadway performers, including Kristin Chenoweth, Marc Kudisch, Kathleen Rowe McAllen and Cathy Rigby. “What comes from the heart, goes to the heart. All my love to Ally, JJ, and Charlotte.”

David Paul Smith has directed for Hale Center Theater Orem, Hale Centre Theatre, SCERA, American Fork Youth Theater, as well as other youth theater programs around Utah Valley. Some of his most recent directing credits include: May We All, Freaky Friday, Sound of Music Youth Edition, Newsies, Disney’s Descendants, School of Rock, Mary Poppins, My Son Pinocchio, Sister Act, Guys & Dolls, The Drowsy Chaperone, AIDA, The Sound of Music, Singin’ in the Rain, Seussical The Musical, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. He most recently appeared on stage as Buddy the Elf in Elf the Musical, Don Lockwood in Singin' in the Rain, Jervis Pendleton in Daddy Long Legs, and Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet with HCT. He also performs with American Performing Arts International at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He currently works for Hale Centre Theatre as Director of Education and Associate Resident Director. He also composes original musicals for children, some of which include The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, The Three Little Pigs, The Untold Story of the Tortoise and the Hare, The Emperor’s New Clothes, Peter Pan’s Great Adventure, Alice in Wonderland, Little Red, The Velveteen Rabbit, A Christmas Carol (HCTO), and a new full-length musical called Blink. He also writes the original productions performed by HCT’s Story Weavers.

Justin has performed and music directed at Hale Centre Theatre & HCTO since 2005. He holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Degrees from Brigham Young University. His favorite theater credits include Titanic the Musical, A Tale of Two Cities, Daddy Long Legs, In the Heights, Les Miserables, Hello, Dolly!, Little Women: The Musical, Phantom, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Peter and the Starcatcher. Justin is also the Director of Choirs at Salem Hills High School—a position he’s held since 2008. Under his direction, the Salem Hills choirs have sung nationwide in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Chicago Symphony Hall, The National Cathedral, Libby Gardner Hall, and the DeJong Concert Hall. In March 2020, he had the distinct honor of conducting the Salem Hills High School Singers at the Western Division Conference of the American Choral Directors Association in Salt Lake City. Justin also conducted choirs for the Saturday evening Sessions of the October 2011 and April 2013 General Conferences of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Justin and his amazingly talented wife, Cecily (no stranger to HCT audiences) live with their two sons Clark and Wyatt, and their dog Scooter, in Salem.

Megan is thrilled to be back in the Stage Manager seat at Hale Centre Theatre after helming Silent Sky, Always...Patsy Cline, Daddy Long Legs, Murder on the Orient Express, and our 2019, 2020,  2021, 2022, and 2023  productions of A Christmas Carol. Favorite Stage Management credits include: SCERA Shell-Newsies; Noorda Performing Arts Center - Week of Dreams Events; Ragan Theater - Die Fledermaus; UVU - Jumpers. Asst. Stage Manager - Sundance Summer Theatre for Joseph...Dreamcoat. Stage Management Intern - O’Neill Theatre Center in Waterford, CT. Megan received her Associates of Arts from Snow College with an emphasis in Theatre and her Bachelor of Arts from Utah Valley University in Theatre. She graduated from both programs Summa Cum Laude. Megan also won the National Award in Stage Management at KCACTF Region 8 Competition in 2018. “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” - AA Milne. 

Mauri is delighted to be designing for Hale Centre Theatre! After graduating from the theatre department at Utah State University, Mauri moved to California to earn her Master of Fine Arts in Theatrical Design and Technology with an emphasis in Scenic Design. While in California, Mauri taught and designed for several Universities, Community Colleges, and even a private Charter High School that specializes in the arts. She was also a member of The Wayward Artist, a small local theatre company. Some of her show credits from her time in California include: Jane Eyre, In the Heights, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, Ordinary Days, 9-5, As You Like It, Bye Bye Birdie, Children of Eden, and Oliver Twist.

Peggy has designed & sewn for HCT since 2005. She lists some of her favorite designs as School of Rock, The Heart of Robin Hood, Peter and the Starcatcher, Big Fish, Tarzan, Les Misérables, Daddy Long Legs, The Play That Goes Wrong, Treasure Island (2022), The Mousetrap, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Matilda. Peggy loves the design process but also likes stepping back to be a “sewing/crafting gremlin” in the costume shop. Peggy holds a BFA in Costume Design for Theatre from USU and currently works full-time in HCT’s Costume Shop. “Love and thanks to my family for their enthusiasm and support when my theatre world engulfs the real one!”

Jaron has been the resident Lighting Designer for the oldest operating summer theater in the nation: The Cape Playhouse, where his credits include Little Shop of Horrors, The Importance of Being Earnest, Deathtrap, Clue, Altar Boyz, Steel Magnolias, Art, Red, The Foreigner, Murder for Two. Michelle has always loved telling stories. Being Native Hawaiian has helped her gain experience in events from a young age. She decided to dive into finding out more about sound and how it functions. This path led her to her MFA in Sound for the Performing Arts from Purdue University. She has designed shows from Utah to Indiana, toured the United States and Central America, worked with touring groups from Olivia Newton-John to Pentatonix, and has worked many local performances in multiple states. Michelle loves theater and being able to use sound to help tell the story. She currently serves as one of the Sound Commissioners of the United States Institute of Theater Technology (USITT) and is a member of the Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA). She'd like to say: “Thank you to my outstanding sound team and all of your hard work!”                        

Danna has worked at Hale Centre Theatre in various departments for 20 years. Much of that time was as Master Electrician, Lighting Design, and Lighting Department Head. She has created designs for The Nerd, Is He Dead?, AIDA, Freaky Friday, and Wait Until Dark. She recently ventured into prop design with our production of The Nutty Professor, The Time Machine, Clue On Stage, Catch Me If You Can, and Hans Christian Andersen in New York as well as contributing to our production of The Three Musketeers and Disney’s Tarzan. She would like to thank all of those who supported her and made this a possibility.

Michelle is extremely passionate about details, research, beautiful and interesting “things,” anything to do with flowers, and opening packages. She recently designed her 91th show with our production of The Unsinkable Molly Brown:  some of her other favorite designs have included The Drowsy Chaperone, Over The River..., Les Misérables, Tarzan, Tuck Everlasting, My Fair Lady, AIDA, and She Loves Me. 

Marnee’ Porter is a professional wig and makeup artist specializing in theatrical and operatic work. Based in Utah, She has designed productions at Utah Opera, the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), and at Brigham Young University and has a passion for working with performers and projects that are larger than life. Marnee’ thrives on being a part of visual storytelling, through the transformative power of makeup and character creation. She completed an MFA in Wig Making and Makeup Design from CCM and also has a degree in Theatre Art Studies from BYU.

As Projections Designer, Madeline’s work was recently seen in productions of Light in the Piazza, Silent Sky, Hans Christian Andersen in New York, Unsinkable Molly Brown, Daddy Long Legs, and more at HCT. She has also been able to design Scenery for HCT for Fiddler on the Roof, Silent Sky, Daddy Long Legs, Murder on the Orient Express, Oklahoma! (Sundance); Fire! and Singing to the Brine Shrimp (Plan B Theatre). Madeline earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from Utah Valley University. 

Nick serves as Hale Centre Theatre’s Head of Automation and resident Automation Designer and Programmer. Of the many shows he’s been a part of here at HCT, his favorites include: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Treasure Island, Disney The Little Mermaid, Titanic The Musical, and Fiddler on the Roof. Beyond HCT, Nick once held a distinguished career with Disney Live Entertainment as a Senior Show Control Designer where he had been instrumental in designing and programming sophisticated show control and automation systems for landmark attractions, including Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. His work also spans large-scale spectaculars such as Frozen, Live at the Hyperion, Fantasmic!, numerous castle firework displays, and most recently, Luminous: The Symphony of Us at Epcot.
